Abbott Faces Senate Complication As Lambie Quits Palmer?s Party - Bloomberg

Her resignation today would end damaging speculation and uncertainty, she said. Palmers bloc has proved crucial for the Abbott government, which lacks a majority in the upper house and is forced to negotiate with minor parties and independents to pass laws. Lambie last week broke ranks with the Palmer original site United Party web site by voting against changes to financial advice laws. Palmer on check it out Nov. 19 suspended Lambie from attending party meetings and removed her as his deputy Senate leader, amid a public spat that saw her take PUP logos and branding off her website. Lambie has also said she will vote against all government legislation until it agrees to support higher pay rises for the military. Palmers alliance with the Australian Motoring Enthusiast Party also appears to have weakened, with its single senator, Ricky Muir, joining Lambie and other independent lawmakers in voting against changes to the previous Labor governments Future of Financial Advice laws. Palmer, who was elected a member of the lower house in September 2013, now controls only two votes in the upper house, through PUP Senators Glenn Lazarus and Dio Wang.
